On Friday Trump designated the Roosevelt Reservation along the Southern boarder of the US from California to Texas and other Federal Lands under military control. The terrain is rugged, lots of hills and areas illegal immigrants are smuggled into the US from Mexico by Coyotes. Cartels use it for smuggling deadly drugs and tunnels were discovered underground between Mexico and US. Trump is putting America First and protecting our Southern Boarders from Invasion and from those who seek to do irreputable harm.
On January 20, 2025, President Donald J. Trump issued National Security Presidential Memorandum (NSPM) 4, directing the Department of Defense to take a more direct role in securing the southern border of the United States. The memorandum assigns the military missions of repelling invasion and sealing the border from unlawful entry. It outlines the policy for the Secretary of Defense, Secretary of the Interior, Secretary of Agriculture, and Secretary of Homeland Security to:
Provide jurisdiction for military activities on federal lands along the southern border
Transfer and accept jurisdiction over federal lands for military activities
Designate federal lands as National Defense Areas
Allow the Secretary of Defense to use portions of the Roosevelt Reservation for military activities
The memorandum also provides for phased implementation, with an initial limited sector of federal lands to be designated by the Secretary of Defense. It is subject to applicable law and availability of appropriations.
